Tips for Land Rover maintenance

As the South Coast’s leading independent Land Rover specialist we know a thing or two about maintaining them… To help you keep your Land Rover at its best this blog shares our tips for Land Rover maintenance.

  1. Change the engine oil regularly.
This is one of the easiest ways to ensure that your Land Rover will stay in top shape. To find out more about the importance of engine oil take a look at this blog by A&D Autos on everything you need to know about engine oil

  2. Check the sensors.
Your Land Rover is equipped with multiple sensors throughout the vehicle, all of which monitor the components that keep things running smoothly. When something needs an alteration or repair your dashboard lights will let you know. Make sure you get your Land Rover looked at as soon as these warning signs appear (we’ve already covered the importance of this here).

  3. Make sure your oil filter is changed.
The oil filter ensures that any debris is removed before the oil circulates back into the engine, and increases the lifespan of your engine oil. Your Land Rover’s oil filter should be changed every time the oil is changed. Taking your vehicle to a Land Rover specialist will ensure the filter is changed correctly, when needed.

  4. Keep an eye on your air filters.
An air filter functions in a similar way to the oil filter, filtering any particles or debris from the air being pulled into the engine. A dirty filter can greatly reduce the efficiency and performance of the engine. If you do a lot of off-roading this is something you need to pay particular attention to, as dust and dirt can cause the filter to become clogged.

  5. Check your tyres
Land Rover tyres are important, both for performance and safety. Check your tyres condition, pressure and tread depth regularly. Additionally, make sure your Land Rover’s tyres are suited to the vehicle usage and terrain. Should you require new tyres we’re more than happy to advise you on the best type for your needs.

There’s a lot of work that goes into the maintenance of a Land Rover.
Although we are more than happy to share our tips with you, we’re also here when you need us. Having your Land Rover serviced regularly by a Land Rover Specialist will help avoid any vehicle breakdowns and ensure optimum performance.
